Christmas shopping’s ramped up a gear this week, and with deadlines for online shopping orders getting nearer, here’s my list of hero products I recommend you either buy for a friend (and what a friend that would make you), or drop big hints to friends or your other half about them for yourself.
I pretty much guarantee these products will help make you (or the lucky recipient) look and feel good, even those non 40-somethings. Some of these I’ve already reviewed on the blog (and if not, I’ve tried to include links), and there’s a good range of prices here so should be something for every budget.
Hope it’s helpful – here goes…
Elemis Collagen Marine Cream – from £25 (as part of the Discovery Collection) Wonderful for all-day moisture, keeps skin feeling supple (more details in my review). A good time to buy thanks to great gift set offers at www.elemis.com
Clarins UV Plus SPF 50 – £32 Essential skin protection throughout the winter. Released this year, it’s a lovely light fluid, a good base for make-up – and looks great thanks to the super clean packaging. Available on the Clarins website and on most Clarins counters in Boots and Debenhams stores.
Benefit High Beam – £19.50 Probably the best highlighter for getting that uber-healthy glow on your cheeks or going all out for glam radiance in the evening. Buy here.
HD Brows Eye and Brow Palette – £25 The heavy brow’s not going anywhere and HD Brows really are the kings of all things brow. This palette comes in three variations and will last for a-g-e-s. Do it!
Time Delay Lip Plumping Gloss – £4.24 (on offer from usual RRP £8.49) One of the best plumping glosses I’ve used – this will make your lips zing. Looks great on its own or dot on your cupid’s bow over your lip colour to emphasise your pout. It’s a steal. Only at Boots.
OPI Fabulous Five – £28.50 The secret to healthy nails is in this box. A nail treatment, cuticle oil and remover, and hand and nail cream. Beautifully packaged too. Buy in selected salons or online.
St Tropez In-Shower Gradual Tan – £14.50 THE best new product of the year, without doubt. I explain why in my review, and after several months of using I am still bowled over by this fab, game-changer of a self tan. Look out for 3 for 2 offers in Boots and buy this for yourself and your friends!
Lash Perfect EyeLash Extensions – price varies These lash extensions can be done to give you a thicker or longer, but still natural-looking, set of eyelashes, or you can really go for showstoppers (and anything inbetween). They do need a bit of TLC if you want them to last (don’t wash your face aggressively and avoid eye make-up remover) but they are perfect for an event or big night out (New Year’s Eve anyone?) Check salons here.
Phillips Lumea Precision Plus – from £350 This is a very pricey piece of kit but if you suffer with coarse body hair or just lots of it, hair removal is a really time-consuming nuisance. Put an end to that – read my review here and shop around for the best deal online.
Rio 60-second Face Lift – £79.99 Very easy to use and is especially good at reducing lines around the eyes when used with the Rio retinol and collagen eye patches to infuse the ingredients – so good before an event or when your face needs a pick-me up in the morning (seems to happen more these days!) Full details and order here or at Argos.co.uk
Scholl Pedi Velvet Smooth – from £24.99 You might not notice your cracked heels and dry skin on your feet, but come the summer everyone else will – and it’ll put years on you! Here’s the answer.
